Ottawa Chapter
Here, we welcome silent readers, to gather in person to read in
quiet camaraderie, and to share
a bookish moment or two.

The Ottawa Chapter of the Silent Book Club acknowledges that we work, play and meet in Odawa (Ottawa), uninvited, on the unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishnaabe Algonquin Nation, whose presence here reaches back to time immemorial.
We acknowledge too, that the Algonquins do not walk among us, but we, among them. We recognize their long history of welcoming many nations to this land.
We acknowledge the long historical oppression of this land’s people, cultures and languages, and how it continues today. This chapter of SBC respects and affirms the inherent Treaty Rights of all Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island (Canada).
Through the promotion of reading, through raising awareness about literature and all of the arts, to the best of our ability as we learn, we will honour, uphold and help lift up the voice and values of our host nation, and contribute to the healing and decolonizing journey we all share together.

BACK TO LITTLE ACORN CREATIVE COACHING
No assigned reading.
Silent Book Club®, a global community of readers and introverts, has grown to more than 2,000 chapters in 60+ countries, since 2012.
"Wouldn't it be great to have a book club where you could just enjoy books, friends, and wine—without any homework?" At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading.

How does it work?
Readers gather and after a taking a bit of time to say hello and order fare and libations, we get down to reading for about an hour. Afterwards, everyone is welcome to wrap up and head home, or stick around for more camaraderie.

Silent Book Club is about community.
Bring what you're reading.
Come, ready to engage with other introverts for a moment or two, long enough to soak up the opportunity of reading together.

#sbc613... In The Media
-
SBC member and CBC producer, Sandra Abma, came to the City Centre meetup in early February. Here is what she shared about us on All in a Day.
-
The piece aired again on In Town and Out. Thanks Sandra, and thanks, CBC!
-
And if you missed it before... Zenith Wolfe, local freelance journalist, did a wonderful piece about us in apt613.
